Transformative learning theory: Where we are after 45 years

This article provides an overview of the literature on transformative learning over previous 45 years, describes its current condition as a relatively mature collection theories, and calls for greater clarity, new iterations theory, productive substantive steps forward. It then contributions in this issue New Directions Adult Continuing Education.
